Scholarships to attend the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages

The NYS Statewide Language Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (RBE-RN) at NYU is offering 25 scholarships for new teachers and 25 $50 stipends for experienced “mentor” teachers to attend the 2016 Northeast Conference February 11-13, in New York City. Spanish Language Teachers Professional Development Scholarships for Online Courses at Cervantes Institute NY

The New York State Education Department Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages through The NYS Language RBERN at New York University is offering some scholarships for online courses at The Cervantes Institute of New York. 

 

Online Courses 

What does it mean to speak and learn a foreign language? From May 2nd to June 5th, 2016. 

Teaching Spanish to children 7-12: planning of learning sessions. From June 1st to June 30th, 2016. 

Language and communication. From June 27th to July 24th.

The State Seal of Biliteracy

The State Seal of Biliteracy, passed by the Legislature and signed into law by the Governor on July 31, 2012, was established to recognize high school graduates who have attained a "high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English."
